Davis is still requiring nasal cannula oxygen flow to help with breathing, but his settings have been weaned down a little. He received his first feeding by tube this afternoon. He will continue to receive feeds by tube until his breathing is no longer labored.
He will need to be completely weaned off his oxygen, breathing comfortably and taking all feedings by mouth before he can be released. So, mom and dad have accepted that he will not likely be coming home with them when mom is released, but do not expect a long NICU stay for Davis.
