Happy 4th of July!

Well, the rain put a damper on our plans to go watch fireworks with Darin and Marilyn at Lackland Air Force Base. Truth be told, our fear of it possibly raining kept us indoors. Of course it turned out to be clear and dry but we didn't tell Jack Everett that... He seemed to accept that "fireworks don't work when it's wainy and cwoudy."

Instead, we enjoyed dinner at El Chaparral with our dear friends.

Darin and Jeff humor me and Marilyn as we take turns taking pictures as couples.

We enjoy a close game of "Colors and Shapes Bingo" at the table before the food comes.

"What's a girl gotta do to spin a Purple Rectangle?!"

Even while negotiating the sale of his home on the phone with the realtor, Mr. Darin manages to win the first game of BINGO.

Since we had already disappointed him with the fireworks-free evening, we took him to Blockbuster and rented "Ice Age" to watch instead. It seemed to be a satisfactory substitution, and the evening was saved.
